A mid-length matinee pearl necklace is popular with business suits or dresses. The matinee is most suited for semi-formal occasions.

Opera pearl necklace (28 - 34")
The opera pearl necklace is normally a single strand. An Opera pearl necklace is best suited for formal engagements in evening dresses. The opera necklace may be worn as a long elegant single strand or doubled on itself for a shorter length. Normally, an opera necklace should fall below the bust line.

Rope pearl necklace (45" +)
The rope pearl necklace, sometimes called a satoir, is very luxurious and can have clasps along the length to help you break it down into shorter necklace and bracelet combinations. Rope necklaces are also often twisted or knotted for shorter lengths.

Torsade pearl necklace
A torsade pearl necklace is comprised of multiple strands twisted together and held with a clasp. The most common type of Torsade is made with freshwater pearls.
